Okay, so you’re just starting an account on Runescape – but you don’t know what your username should be. Maybe you have an idea of it, but you want it to be something special. I’ll give you some ideas below on how to come up with a username faster, and if your desired username is already taken, I’ll give you some tips on how to do a good variation of it, without numbers.

Choose a username that isn’t immature or stupid: You don’t want to choose an immature or stupid, because you’ll gradually mature over the game and become ashamed of your username. Don’t choose a username like “kakapoo3” (I’ve actually seen someone with that username before), because when you’re older (You’d probably have to be about 10 to make a username like that) and more mature, you’ll be ashamed of it and might articulate creating a new account. If you’re already fully grown and still would consider an immature name, then you probably wont grow out of it, but people will still look down on you for it, and they might mistake you for a 10 year old. It’s your choice though, I’m just giving you advice.

Choose a username that you know you will like for a long time, something that you like a lot and will never dislike. If you’re really into a video game, such as Super Mario Brothers, or The Legend of Zelda, and you really like the series, then it would probably be safe to name your character after your favorite character from the game. If you’re into sports or music, or a television show, name your character accordingly.

Don’t put numbers in your names: Numbers just make your username look cheesy. Try not to include any numbers in your name, with the exception being that they’re replacing another letter in the name such as: 0bby Pk3r, 1r0n Sc1mmy, D4rkn3ss, and so on. Those also look kind of cheesy, but at least it’s not something like: Obbypker12, or ironscim3516, or darkness9954.

If you want an alternative to numbers, try including spaces in between the letters or putting x’s or o’s or some cool looking letter in your username. Here are a few examples:

Just remember, when you’re choosing a username that you’re going to be using for a really long time, make sure it represents who you are, not in an embarrassing way though. On this game, you really should care what people think about it though, because you can get flamed for having a certain username. Good luck.
